Jaurdyn Johnson, Editor

This is my second year on the Nugget Newspaper staff, and sadly, my last. I have always enjoyed writing. Being in not only, journalism but newspaper, has intensified my appreciation of creating articles. Thus, I have decided to further my studies in Journalism at the University of Montana. Newspaper has given me that spark of excitement.

In addition to being an editor for the student paper, I am also on Helena High’s cheerleading team. Being involved in high school has given me outlets to express myself and appreciate the school’s variety of activities, clubs and sports.

One of my favorite things is cheering in front of a crowd, and seeing the excitement and energy in people’s eyes. Having school spirit is apparently not “cool” nowadays. So, it makes me happy knowing that people appreciate the athleticism and hard work it takes to be in a sport in high school, while still maintaining a certain grade-point average.

Being a part of newspaper has giving me confidence and the will to succeed in all aspects of being a student.
