(Helena, MT) Montana has been facing freezing temperatures for the past few weeks with no sign of stopping for the next week. Like last year, Helena didn’t get much snow throughout the November/December seasons, not even getting snow during Christmas! The January and February seasons have been having tons of snow and freezing temperatures which also is like last year, which got so cold, Montana City School had an optional day because of heating issues. Is this weather going to be normal yearly weather in the future? Or will we eventually get back to normal winter seasons with snow on Christmas?
According to local student Ethan Bebich, “It’s been too cold…way too cold. I usually walk to Safeway twice a week but now I go there once every two weeks”. He thinks later winters should have more snow in December because “I kinda like snowy Christmas”. Foster Warner has had issues with winter stating that “I was running outside, and my hands were frozen even with gloves on, and I even got frostbite on the tip of my ear”. He also thinks that snow should come during the earlier months because of Christmas.
Most people seem to have issues with the cold ranging from having to walk to the shops to Christmas and Skiing, but the weather in Montana has always had long winters, and the weather will still stay cold for the future.
