The Tiny Town of Long Creek

A Poem

Eli Dyckhoff, Student Submission

The tiny town of Long Creek

Known as Nowhere, U.S.A.

I didn’t enjoy a moment there

I hated it every day

There, there is nothing

Not a soul to be found

Save several old folks

Who wander around

Atop the hill

A school for all ages

An empty library

Books with dusty pages

The nearest store is

But ninety miles away

Simple grocery shopping

Will take your whole day

Yes there is nothing there

Boredom lingers all day

In the tiny town of Long Creek

Known as Nowhere, U.S.A.
